Learn the essential skills to operate ultrasound machines, optimize image for common clinical applications and acquire needle-eye coordination in a boutique, small group setting, packed with energy, in an inspiring location on the Hudson River overlooking Manhattan – The NYSORA Academy.
These hands on programs are designed to ensure transition from knowledge to skill immediately applicable in clinical practice. The courses are limited in attendance to maximize the learning experience. This program will prepare you to gain maximum benefit from more advanced courses which focus on techniques and clinical applications of ultrasound (NYSORA’s Building Blocks, Boutique Workshops and Boot Camps). Optimizing ultrasound image and mastering needle guidance towards a range of common targets is fundamental to the application of point of care ultrasound. Our program is structured so that no delegate can be left behind. We are so confident in the didactic efficacy of this new NYSORA program that we offer a money-back guarantee. The program includes one-on-one guidance, NYSORA’s new cutting-edge NYSORA SIMULATORS™, maximum one ultrasound machine per two delegates and 100% hands-on training. A certificate of knowledge and skill acquisition is issued to candidates who successfully pass the test and skills assessment. In this age of information overload, everyone can get lost. Receiving information is one thing, but to be inspired, to feel the joy of learning and tap into one’s inner strength, commitment and courage, is different. We structure our courses and select instructors and locations to foster these very emotions and the feeling of accomplishment. This strategy provides the drive to our trainees to apply what you have learned.

Optional: Ultrasound Certification – LEVEL I (*Requires separate registration)
Offered as an extension to the 1 day Essentials of Ultrasound Course. The certification preparation and examination will take place on the day following the Essentials of Ultrasound Courses at the NYSORA Academy.
NYSORA has introduced an Ultrasound certification process of minimal skills acquisition for
ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and point-of-care interventional procedures. The certificate is issued to candidates who successfully pass the test and demonstrate the practical knowledge. Delegates who pass the certification test will receive the NYSORA Ultrasound Certificate for Knowledge Acquisition Foundation Level 1 (general knowledge on operating ultrasound equipment, transducer maneuvers to optimize image, safety and demonstration of needle-eye coordination in NYSORA SIMULATORS™).
The NYSORA Ultrasound Level I Certification certificate can be used as a proof of acquisition of minimum skills to operate ultrasound equipment and safety guide the needle during interventional procedures under ultrasound guidance. As such, the Certificate can be used to obtain credentialing and hospital privileges to use ultrasound in clinical practice.
NYSORA has always strived to standardize the training at its residency and fellowship programs, workshops, books and other instructional material. At our workshops – we request that instructors teach NYSORA techniques for consistency and enhanced retention of the knowledge imparted in the workshops. However, one always wonders what the workshop delegates do with the acquired knowledge after the workshops and whether they were able to acquire the adequate skillset to apply such knowledge in patients at their practice.
The NYSORA’s certifications process has been developed by a group of NYSORA’s international collaborators and continues to evolve as it starts getting traction in residency programs throughout the world. The Certification courses are limited to 10 participants/session. Registration and payment required through the Essentials of Ultrasound registration pages.
Due to the limited number of spaces, this certification examination is open only to those registered to attend the Essentials of Ultrasound Courses.
